Compression Presets
Apply optimized compression settings in one click
This is a Pro feature. Activate your license to use it.
Presets let you switch between pre-configured compression settings instantly, instead of adjusting individual quality sliders.
Built-in Presets
Compresso includes four built-in presets:
| Preset | Best for | Quality | Compression |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra | Photography sites, portfolios | Highest | Minimal |
| Balanced | Most websites | High | Good ratio of quality to size |
| Aggressive | Speed-focused sites, blogs | Moderate | Maximum savings |
| Thumbnail | Sites with many small images | Optimized for small sizes | Aggressive on thumbnails |
Applying a Preset
- Go to Compresso > Presets
- Review what each preset changes
- Click Apply on the preset you want
Applying a preset updates your compression settings immediately. It won't re-optimize images that have already been processed — use Re-optimize All in bulk optimization to apply the new settings retroactively.
Custom Presets
Create your own presets to save specific combinations of settings:
- Configure your desired settings in Compresso > Settings
- Go to Compresso > Presets and click Save Current as Preset
- Name your preset and save
This is useful if you switch between different optimization profiles — for example, one for product images and one for blog post images.
Size-Specific Presets
You can apply different presets to different image sizes. For example, use Ultra quality for full-size images but Aggressive compression for thumbnails, since thumbnails are displayed small and don't need the same quality.
